Hospitality – Event Management

Events such as meeting, convention, or wedding event, is growing into more important part nowadays. Event Management Program provides education of knowledge and hands-on experience to prepare to deal with planning, design, budgeting, management, and marketing various events. Students will learn focused on on-site event management experience, guest lectures from industry professionals, networking at industry conferences, case studies to broaden knowledge of planning events locally, nationally and internationally.

Event Management Program at Public College

1. George Brown College

Program	Special Event Management
Start Date	September, January, May
Campus	St. James Campus
Feature of College	This program prepares students as event planer through 4 semesters with the course of catering, marketing for special events, event planning, hospitality accounting, etc. There is mandatory externship in the last semester, so students can get work experience which can be a great advantage when they apply for a job.

2. Centennial College

Program	Special Event Planning
Start Date	September, January, May
Campus	Progress Campus
Feature of College	This program has field placement in the last semester and students will be trained as catering and event coordinator, event planner/manager, meeting planner, convention and special events planer, etc. Graduates can gain opportunities for employment through their field placement.

3. Humber College

Program	Hospitality – Event Management
Start Date	September
Campus	North Campus
Feature of College	Students can get experience immediately in the first semester through events on campus. Humber College has work placement course in the last semester, so students can do externship or internship. In case of internship, students should work at least 24 hours a week for 14 weeks.

4. Seneca College

Program	Tourism – Services Management – Meeting, Conventions & Event Specialization

Feature of College	Students who study this program in Seneca College will get optional co-op opportunity in summer between third and fourth semester. Seneca College has eight affiliations and associations such as Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE), Cruise Line International Association (CLIA), Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), etc.
